Our alumni association takes pride in leaving this century and entering the new millenium with several projects for JASHS students, faculty and non-academic personnel. Now ongoing and/or in the pipeline are four projects that hopefully will help make some difference in the lives of the beneficiaries and help improves the learning environment in the school.
Financial Aid to Needy Students
The amount of $2,100.00 of which $500.00 represents the share of the Northern California Chapter was allocated for 180 students-recipients from the 4-year levels , with each student receiving P500.00 for their school needs such as uniform, science journal, projects ,etc.
As drawn up by the school , students considered for the cash grant included those with : a)unemployed or separated parents, b)living in squatters area, c) self-supporting, d)good attitude and behavior, and e) class standing. Being considered for the next phase is inviting alumni to serve as foster parents, big brother/sister, or sponsors(ninongs/ninangs) of deserving poor students whose profiles (i.e., age, economic status, ambition, etc) will be submitted by the school to our association.
Your $50.00 donation will allow you to sponsor one student for a year. Who knows , you might find it later on , its worth supporting your chosen recipient through college. This is doing a service to the community that we can be proud of.
Recognition Award
Recognizing that quality education much depends on teachers and that teachers may be motivated to excel if their efforts are properly acknowledged, our alumni association has started giving Recognition Awards, in the form of plaques and cash, to outstanding teachers. We also thought of giving the same award for non-academic personnel for their exemplary service to the school.
A committee has been created by the School Principal to select the awardees based on the criteria that the committee has drawn up. We hope to get the names of this year's nominees in time for the Jose Abad Santos Day celebration.
Academic Excellence Awards
The alumni association , as a way of honoring the outstanding academic achievement , will grant the Academic Excellence Awards, in the form of cash and certificates, to the valedictorians(college prep & vocational) of this school year's graduating class and the rest of the 12 honor graduates. The valedictorian 's will each get P2000.00 and other honor graduates P1000.00 WATCH THE NEXT ISSUE FOR THE NAMES OF THE RECIPIENTS!!!!!!!!!!
